While it may still be September and the sun is shining in Oregon, winter is coming! And with it snow, skiing, and mountain bliss. To kickstart ski season, I hiked up to the top of the Palmer Glacier today, about 8500 feet up Mt. Hood, to get in a few early turns.
To continue with the the ski and snow excitement, the next two weeks will feature posts about some of my favorite winter destinations and ski resorts. Stay tuned and start planning your own winter vacation!
You are starting the season early! How much snow was there when you went?
There was about 3-4 feet of groomed snow up on the Palmer, maybe more! They actually open up for the fall season skiing here in a week or so.
